Alan Jackson Launches His First-Ever ‘Small Town Drive-In’ Concerts

Alan Jackson plans to hit the road next month in Alabama, but his fans can only meet him out there if they stay in their cars.

The country music star will perform a pair of shows as part of his first-ever Small Town Drive-In concerts presented by Pepsi. The first show will be held on June 5 in Cullman’s open-field site that usually hosts the Rock the South music festival, while the second show will be held on June 6 in Fairhope’s Oak Hollow Farm. The Cory Farley Band, which frequently played at Jackson’s AJ’s Good Time Bar in Nashville, Tenn., will open for him.

The couplet of concerts will accommodate 2,000 parked vehicles at the different outdoor venues, where concertgoers can enjoy the show from and order concessions via phone orders to comply with the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Alabama’s state social distancing measures. Tickets go on sale starting today (May 27) on Jackson’s website, with general admission per vehicle (up to two passengers) prices at $99.99. Additional passenger tickets can be purchased for $39.99 each.

And for those wanting to score the closest thing to seeing the Country Music Hall of Famer in the “front row,” fans can purchase a limited amount of VIP parking spots starting at $199.99.

A portion of the proceeds from the Small Town Drive-In concerts will benefit COVID-19 food relief efforts.
